  1. The Plaza De La Consititucion or Zocalo – This is one of the main squares in the center of the Mexico City which is an ideal starting point for tourists. This place is said to be the world’s second largest public square which is at 830 by 500 feet. This great area of cemented space is being decorated with a huge Mexican Flag which is placed in the center of the square. This is actually situated in the heart of the city where several events like festivals, protests, events are being held. So, this is one of the best places for every tourist to begin their tour of Mexico.
  2. Metropolitan Cathedral or Catedral Metropolitana – This gigantic cathedral is situated on the northern side of Zocalo and was built 250 years ago with a combination of architectural styles. Similar to other buildings in the city, this cathedral is slowly tumbling into its grounds. In the year 1990, an extensive project of renovation was undertaken in order to rescue the building from tumbling.
  3. National Palace or Palacio Nacional – This is a government building which is situated on the eastern side of Zocalo and houses national archives and federal treasury. One of the main attractions at this place is the murals of Diego Rivera representing thousand years of Mexican ancient history.
  4. Great Temple or Templo Mayor – In the year 1978, the workers of electric company while digging besides the Metropolitan Cathedral discovered a huge round stone which represents the moon goddess Coyolxauqui. This later encouraged the evacuation of this huge stone which was dedicated to the god of rain Tlaloc and the god of war Huitzilopochtli. Great Temple is a museum where you will find this stone which started the archaeological project. Besides this you also find some interesting models of the city and artifacts.
  5. Fine Arts Palace or Palacio De Bellas Artes - This extravagant theater was specially designed to celebrate the Independence Day anniversary of Mexico I the year 1910. However it was not completed by the year 1934. This theater contains murals by David Alfaro Siqueiros, Jose Clemento Orozco, Rufino Tamayo and Diego Rivera. 
  6. National Anthropology Museum or Museo Nacional De Antropologia – This museum is situated in the Chapultepec Park and contains some of the most remarkable collected works of Mesoamerican artifacts and ethnological exhibits.  
  7. Xochimilco – The floating gardens or chinampas of Aztecs were a resourceful agricultural method of creating arable land on the site of the lake. At this place you can ride colorful boats along the lake and can even shop from the vendors or even hire a mariachi band to sing to you  
  8. Museo Frida Kahlo – The Blue house or the Casa Azul in Coyoacan was once a residence of one of the most famous artists and painter Diego Rivera. He along with his wife lived in this residence for 14 years of their life. At present, this place is decorated with beautiful crafts and arts of Mexico where-in many tourists can have a glimpse of these crafts and decorations of this place. 
  9. Teotihuacan - This is an archaeological site which is situated 25 miles away from the main city of Mexico. It is usually referred to as the city of gods which has a population of over 200,000 people that navigated since the 200 BC. At this place tourists can walk along the dead avenue and even climb the pyramid of moon and sun.  
  10. Basilica De Guadalupe - This particular hill top where once the virgin Guadalupe had appeared to Juan Diego is at present one of the most visited sites in the city of Mexico. Actually, Guadalupe is said to be the patroness of Mexico City and is one of the most important symbol of Mexico.
